You know that movie Sabrina, the old Audrey Hepburn one, that they then remade with Julia Ormond, Harrison Ford, and Greg Kinnear? One of the lines in that movie after Sabrina gets back from Paris, after she’s transformed… she says, “I found myself in Paris.”
..
That’s how I feel about Barcelona.
..
Sounds a bit cheesy, I admit.. but the streets and the energy of this place just wrap around me and make me feel happy… make me feel me… make me feel free enough to just be. I’ve been to Barcelona twice now.. both times, ending up there with an awesome friend after challenging situations, just enjoying and taking in this alive city, warm culture, and having conversations that actually make a difference. Having people you trust press you about you so that you really can look inside deeply.. so you can see what might be there to clear away for your best possible future…. yeah, that’s a real friend.
..
I always strive to be that kind of friend to my people and my clients. Giving people a truly open, nonjudgmental space to share, and challenging them into it for their own growth by asking real, deeper questions. When we tap our courage and answer these questions for ourselves… when we go where it’s emotionally scary, we free ourselves from old emotional shackles we never see day-to-day until we shine the light there and really look. Only then can we take those chains off and change our lives in a bigger, more transformative way.
..
Be that kind of friend. Allow your friends or your coach to be that for you. Trust. Tap your courage. And know the transformation is there for you too… because man… the other side is bliss. :)))
I also totally went on a Barcelona shopping spree, pretty much bought myself a new wardrobe, complete with cute skirts and girly outfits, and my big splurge of the WMFT, my amazing new shoes!!!!! I love my new shoes so much, holy crap. (And yes, I took this pic for the outfit.)
Inside the Sagrada Familia. Whoa. I toured the inside when I was here back in 2009 or 2010, and it was still full of scaffolding and everything.. to see it complete.. wow.
Walking streets on the weekend, HOLY CRAP!!!! During the week there were WAY fewer people, I absolutely recommend going during the week to avoid these kind of insane crowds.
The market!!!!!! This was one of my most favorite things on this trip. The food is freakin’ INCREDIBLE, and super cheap! #highlyrecommendyo
So that’s the latest, team. What’s going on with YOU? How can I help?
