So before this, my favorite moment on the World Tour was walking into the Grand Place in Brussels at night, literally having my breath taken away and tears come to my eyes in awe.
Yeah, skiing Zermatt topped that.
Same jaw-dropping awe rendering me speechless, same tears coming to my eyes, just this time it was in a gondola, heading up up up into the Swiss and Italian alps to ski down in literally perfect sunshine. Yeah, downright ridiculous. One of those moments in life that whacks you upside the head and you can’t not know life is incredible in all it’s beauty and possibility. #deepandmeaningful #andtotallytrue
..
And OMG the Swiss sauna/wellness center in the completely EPIC hotel with the perfect view of our new pal, the Matterhorn… yeah.
Add in time with old pals and Switzerland absolutely becomes my new favorite. Given all the places we’ve been in the first half of this thing… that’s saying something. :))
Of course all these epic locations involve quite a bit of literal and figurative legwork in between. If you take a blue steel pic with the train tracks every now and then, you’re good. #solidtraveladvice
Meeting up with one of my oldest friends, Lorraine (aka Richard.. aka the nickname that will literally be what we call each other when we are 90) in Geneva where she lives. Richard, the perfect tour guide!
Taking in the beautiful mountains as we head into the Alps… at this point, I have no clue what’s gonna hit my eyeballs in the morning. :))
Put the GoPro on my helmet for skiing.. this was my favorite trail.. Brian rocking the sweet in-action camera geek while the Matterhorn waldo’s. PERFECT. Ahhhhhh being in this place… literally sliding down these incredible mountains in the nooks and crannies of the SWISS ALPS… yeah, bliss. :)))
The highest viewpoint in Europe. Un-f’ing-REAL. And of course I had to be a dork too. I mean, obviously.
Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. Highest viewpoint in Europe. Nearly 13,000 feet. Yeah, my face is a little cold and red and happy. :))
A full-on operation, and actually really easy to get around. Notice, this one says, “hey, if you want to go to Italy.. just go this way.”
If you ski over to Italy for lunch, make sure you plan enough time to get back up the gondolas and back up and over to the Swiss side before all the lifts close. We barely made it back, were literally on the last gondola up… but we made it! And had to snap the obligatory pic standing on the Swiss-Italian border.. half in Switzerland, half in Italy.. check! Hahaha :))
Once back on the Swiss side, we skied through to the very end… we were literally on the LAST chair that took people to the top. I was literally the LAST person to ski off the mountain this day. As I skied down, I saw this sunset over the Matterhorn. As awesome as this pic is, it can never do the real thing any actual justice. Come here for sure. If there’s even a chance.. come here.
May seem strange, but this is actually my favorite picture from the World Tour so far. This image perfectly showcases what I believed to be possible coming into this thing and dreaming of truly testing mobile entrepreneurship. This is actually an image of my dream as reality.
… then back to Richard’s for a fun dinner and FaceTime with all our Middlebury girlfriends! Hi, Lena!
Goodbye, Switzerland and my new favorite, Zermatt! Heading back France.. French Riviera and short-sleeves, here we come….
