Sanremo, Levanto, and the Amalfi Coast. Cinqueterre earned it’s own post because it was one of my personal key bucket list items. Definitely was a thing for me to check that place off. So many of those moments on the World Tour, and so many unexpected moments I never knew I wanted to experience until I did. Like…
OR equally awesome in it’s irony and comedy, you have the experience of driving the Amalfi Coast only to find the road blocked off. Then finding the detour only to have to drive a stick up the steepest hill known to man. Then meeting a truck the width of the road and having to literally back down the steepest hill known to man to find some small shred of space for said truck to pass. Then to drive back up the steepest hill known to man only to to be stopped by the cops holding traffic at the top. (They did eventually let us go haha..)
..
Yeah. So that happened too.
And it was awesome!
I feel cooler that I did that.
I feel cooler that I drove the Panda (pic below) pretty expertly up that crazy ass hill having only driven a stick for a month.
I feel cooler having talked to the Italian Polizia.
I feel cooler having kept my cool amidst all that action.
From my morning run in San Remo. Because it costs SO much more to drop your rental car off in a different location in a different COUNTRY, we planned to drop the France car off in Nice, and pick the new car up in SanRemo.. a little train-back, drop-off/pick-up teamwork going on with this plan, but it saved us 600 Euros! #totallyworthit
These things are all around Italy.. water.. makes me think of the Eat Pray Love movie when she drank from one as she strolled around the streets taking in the place, history, and peace. My favorite book of all time. Seen the movie countless times too.
Our little porch at one of the places we stayed.. Levanto. Of course I loved the Christmas lights. #totallypredictable #owningit
Doors.
Be brilliant. Be happy. 🙂
Sunrise over the sea from the hotel window in Sanremo.
The beach in Levanto.
Amalfi Coast CLOSED???? Awesome.
Amalfi Coast. Well worth coming back here. :)))
The driving part was seriously so fun. The roads are crazy tiny, intense hills, and epic coastal curves. An experience in itself.
I’m totally smiling.
Gotta get the Amalfi #GoProselfi. #duh
Amalfi Cathedral.
Then it’s time to peace back out, yo! #sunset #Panda #WMFT
