If you haven’t seen Hangover 2, go watch it and imagine my pals and me as the peeps instead.
We escaped Bangkok to the Thai islands. Phuket and Phi Phi. Beauty, beaches, and bummin’ around. Actually, we didn’t really bum around at all.. in addition to my rocking client calls at 3AM, we took a motorboat onto the ocean waves, rode elephants taking incessant selfies, drank pina coladas out of coconuts, got Thai foot massages like it was our job, etc. Oh and we ate too. Pad Thai taste tests. Green curry competition. Battles for buffet bacon.
I admit on the day the others went zip-lining, I decided to hang by the pool with my book and the big concrete head dude (below, first pic). I’ve done a lot on this here #WMFT… we do a lot in life… it’s ok to chill it out sometimes.
I admit the choice, zip-lining vs. sunbathing… not the most powerful example of choice being the antidote to painful perception of challenge.
But choice is the antidote for pain.
The pain comes in the perception.
Anytime we forget we get to choose.. anytime we think we are a victim.. we feel pain.
Anytime we remember that we always get to choose.. we feel free.
Anytime we do choose and live aligned with our character… well, that’s a life you love.
::
One of the things I personally care about hugely is being real. Being straight-up with my people. Being honest. Authentic. Absolutely a huge piece of my personal character and integrity.
And being in integrity feels good. Even if it only shows up as, “No, I just don’t want to,” when faced with, “Do you want to go zip-lining with us?”
Choice is our access to a life of character…
Living in alignment with our character is our access truly to a life we love.
Week 1 had us continuing our #WMFT close-out celebration at a pretty swanky resort in Karon Beach. And introducing the #SelfieStickChronicles. I kept talking about it, hemming and hawing, and Darel finally just bought one for me, of course expertly bartering the guy at the store down to nothing. #isuckatthat
Like, ok, while we sit here at the epic swim-up bar and drink epic islandy drinks, how does this stick work? #thatswhatshesaid #learningcurve #SelfieStickChronicles
Pina Coladas!
View from lunch on the hill.
Elephants!
Darel was able to come play with us in Phuket too! 😀 #GoProelephantselfie
Thai foot massage time.
Working in the middle of the night leads to early AM Skype calls with the BFF! Perf. Kinda love how Nora is chowing down on something in the background, just sayin.
Morning client call by the waterfall, no big deal. (Honestly, it was pretty loud, wouldn’t do it again, but it sure does sound cool. #reality)
Next up, the Phi Phi Islands in a motorboat! Beautiful and badass day. :))
The driver of the boat told us to get up here for a pic. I obviously obliged.
Snorkeling!
Selfie sticks are totally waterproof, as are GoPros, and the wrist thing keeps it safe from falling to to fish. #SelfieStickChronicles
Beautiful day and met some beautiful people too.. Sarah and Cory, so great to spend the day and to keep in touch! Hope this pic is helping with all the snow. #USAperpetualblizzard (I’ll be back in it in a couple weeks, ahhh!) (Sarah is a fitness coach, follow here HERE!)
And really, what is a trip to the stunning Thai beaches without the obligatory (and ALWAYS awesome) jumping pic! Met these lovely ladies as well! Lara, Shabbi, Megan, and me. I’d call that air-time pretty much perfect, ladies!! Thank you for an awesome day too! 😀
Floating.
Fish!
Brian and Melissa… yup… I f*ckin love you guys. DUH.
The start of using the selfie stick. Yup, full embarrassment. Never look directly at it.. it’s like the sun.. if you do, it could scorch your soul. Nope, instead, just swing that thing around taking pics and out of the 8000 it takes, you’ll get a few badass shots like this one where miraculously you actually look cool. #SelfieStickChronicles
When in the Thai islands, you must drink from a coconut.
You can get the coolest shots with a GoPro.
What’s a girl gotta do to find people who can hang?
Just beautiful here.
Last dinner together lookin’ snazzy.
Last sunset together.. one last beer on the beach before our goodbyes. 🙂
Yeah, drink up.
There it goes… the sun beyond the horizon and the World Tour together goes with it. Melissa off to the airport, Brian off to his Scuba training, and me off to my week just for me. Pretty perfect slice of life, my friends. Couldn’t love you more. Thank you for everything.
