Funny, before going on the #WMFT, Eat, Pray, Love, was literally my favorite book.

Of all time.
I so related to Elizabeth Gilbert on so many levels. Most powerfully on the one of wanting to travel as a means of my own personal growth, and despite having no idea how it would turn out, always having a faith that the journey would deliver lessons I could never predict starting out.
..
It did.
..
And I’m so grateful.
..
Eat, Pray, Love is still my favorite book. But now, I relate to Liz’s story on SO many more levels having gone on my own cathartic journey across the globe. The one that this blog post is about though, is the most important. Definitely the most important to me.
..
In going around this entire freakin planet, one thing my journey delivered… one thing it confirmed… is that there are truly outstanding people everywhere… who give no matter what they get back.
And I was lucky enough to connect with a few.
..
DCIM101GOPRO In Nepal, I met some of the nicest people of my entire World Tour. One in particular was Binod, a truly kind and giving person. We spent 3 days trekking in the Himalayas.. we shared stories, and this experience.. I learned about the country, this culture, his family, and we ended absolutely as friends.
..
After showing up in Nepal early and alone, he made me feel safe and welcome and helped facilitate one of my most memorable and favorite life experiences to date. In the aftermath of the earthquakes in Nepal, Binod and his family have lost their home and so much, and I want to help. This is what I can think of to do. I know I have been asking for donations to mymarathon fundraising, but really,
I’d rather pay for that in full and have you all give to Binod, his family, and his village.
Any amount is wonderful. Truly.

Simply PayPal whatever you’re inspired to give to me at mel@melaniecurtis.com and I will ensure it gets to him and them. And please feel free to share this post with anyone you know that may be inspired to give.

Thank you all. So much.
