People often ask me how to grow as a speaker.

Like anything we want to do at a high level, I would say first there are no shortcuts, but I would also say there absolutely is a path.

In my keynotes, I share stories pushing myself to the proverbial (and literal) edge, in individual, team and business goals. I also share how others can access these outlier opportunities and results for themselves. Cool. So what?
The only way I am able to share these stories is to have DONE THESE THINGS. To have BUILT THESE SKILLS. You will need to challenge yourself in the same ways in your unique lane in order to have meat in your sharing and confidence creating strength in your energy on stage.

What most people don’t know…

… is that I had done all these irrefutably remarkable things (skydiving world records, 75 hard, built businesses, written books, challenged my demons haha, ETC) and I STILL couldn’t quite figure out how to feel truly confident in HOW I TALKED ABOUT THEM on stage.

So what did I do?

I got coaching.
I tapped my humility to acknowledge I needed (and wanted!) help, and then I found a way to hire that expert teammate. (Hint: Kindra Hall is the best there is on storytelling. 🔥)
For the entirety of my career, I have believed that in order to be the best at ANYTHING, we also must be in the work around that thing ourselves too. As in, if your coach doesn’t have a coach, get a new coach. 😉
Before I made this effort to earn the confidence I needed in my own content creation and storytelling, there were 100% times I BOMBED on stage. UGH. Talk about humbling. BUT I was grateful for the feedback I received in these experiences and I took it as fuel to find a different approach than the one I was taking then, that clearly wasn’t working.

Now some of the things people say after hearing me speak (my stuff is on peak performance) are:

✨ “Extraordinarily inspiring…”
✨ “There was magic in the room…”
✨ “Penetrating insights about the power of creating a HUGE goal…”
✨ “I had never thought about goal achievement in this way…”
So, if you are working toward being better, more inspiring and impactful on stage, take this insight, run with it in your own way and reach out if you ever want help.
