As we know, sometimes you just need time to yourself. And that’s cool. Take it.

That’s what I did in Florence. The World Tour is FULL… ON. Even more so moving every single day driving the French Riviera, then the Italian Riviera, then quickly hitting Cinqueterre. I’m talking holy friggin schnikies. No down time at all. So yeah, even though I was in one of the most beautiful, culturally rich cities in the world, I knew I needed downtime more than I needed to see the David.
I saw this naked statue dude in Venice, so it's all good.

..

To put it plainly… I needed two things:

1. To chill the f*ck out.
2. To get my sh*t together.
..
Sweet.
For me, chilling the f*ck out and getting my sh*t together includes working (I seriously love my job). Writing, talking to my clients, organizing my life, etc. As such, I also took this time in Florence to completely organize my finances. I admit I didn’t plan much coming into the World Tour given the big change of life and moving across the United States before this journey began. And I was cool with that.
But now that I was in it, it was time to do that work I’d neglected up to this point. So I took an entire day and completely filled out my expense spreadsheet for the ENTIRE YEAR for 2014. I did this to regain financial control both for the remainder of the World Tour and to set myself up solidly heading into 2015.
..
Was absolutely worth not seeing the David to do this.
..
Why?

Financial well-being is a critical piece to overall well-being.

Do the work to really know where your money is going, and you’ll be that much more free from the anxiety that kind of unknown can cause.

Just because I took Florence "off," doesn't mean I didn't see anything. This was our street. #BEAUTIFUL

One of my clients told me I must must see Ponte Vecchio, so after we hung up for our late-night call, I had energy and went for a run, and got this pic. :)

And I did make it out to the markets on the hunt for an Italian leather purse. Got harassed a lot. Check.

Has been so so cool seeing Europe during the holidays.. every city is decorated in it's own way with so many beautiful lights. Have so loved it and has made being away from home for the holidays that much more manageable. #holidaylove
